dScribe and SAP
Besides the more common reporting systems such as Power BI, Tableau, dScribe is particularly well-suited for connecting to SAP systems such as SAP Analytics Cloud, SAP BusinessObjects, SAP BW, SAP BW/4HANA and S/4 HANA.
SAP Analytics Cloud
From SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC), dScribe automatically extracts and documents the following information:
Stories
Models
Data lineage -_> e.g. dependencies between Stories and Models, but also towards underlying data warehouse models
The setup of an SAC connector is easy and typically takes less than 10 minutes.

SAP BO
From SAP BusinessObjects Cloud (SAP BO), dScribe extracts the following information:
Reports
Universes
BEx queries (including formulas)
Columns
Intra-connector data lineage --> e.g. dependencies between Universes and reports
Since SAP BO is typically hosted in a private network, setup of the BO connector requires configuring our SAP BO agent. The whole setup typically takes less than 2 hours.

SAP BW
Both SAP BWonHANA and SAP BW/4HANA are available as native connectors in dScribe.
From SAP BW, dScribe extracts the following information:
Datasets
Columns
BEx queries (including formulas)
Visualising the query structure
Data lineage --> e.g. dependencies towards SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) or SAP BO Web Intelligence (Webi) reports
The setup of an SAP BW connector is straightforward and typically takes less than 30 minutes.

SAP HANA
SAP HANA is SAP's native data warehousing solution. From HANA, dScribe extracts the following information:
Calculation Views, including all attributes and measures
Tables, including all columns
Data lineage --> e.g. dependencies between calculation views (incl. multiple layers) and tables

SAP S/4HANA
S/4HANA is SAP's flagship ERP solution. The platform includes an embedded analytics suite, with data modeling based on CDS views. These views can be used for embedded reporting (via Fiori apps) or to extract data towards an external source (e.g. a data warehouse, a BI tool, excel ...). From S/4HANA, dScribe extracts the following information:
CDS Views, including all attributes and measures
Data lineage --> e.g. dependencies between CDS views (incl. multiple layers) and SAP tables
When S/4HANA is hosted in a private network, the setup of this connector requires configuring our SAP S/4HANA agent. The whole setup typically takes less than 2 hours.
