Sources
SAP Analytics Cloud
BMT Group endeavours to remain a global reference player in the gear manufacturing industry worldwide. In addition, BMT wants to consolidate its global leadership position in glass mold manufacturing. To do this, they continuously monitor new technology potential and best practices.
Because it is made up of several business units, creating a unified data culture without installing a centrally managed tool and processes would have been near impossible. Having invested in a modern data architecture and data reporting in each division, the BMT team took up the challenge to increase accessibility to available data and reports:
guarantee visibility of reports for every BMT employee
maintain definitions of master data and transactional data elements and make them available to all reports and data consumers throughout the group
Rolling out dScribe
dScribe was rolled out as a single access points to all reporting in BMT, across the different divisions. Also in dScribe, a company-wide glossary with KPIs and data definitions (~300) was also established, with selected content shared across the group and other content governed locally per division.
BMT’s IT landscape:
SAP BusinessObjects Cloud for BI reporting
SAP Analytics Cloud for data visualization and dashboarding (>1.000 reports)
SAP HANA as data warehouse
SAP S/4HANA ERP systems
"To address the data challenge, we partnered up with dScribe. The data catalog application makes it feasible for users, in a very user friendly way, to find and interpret reports and KPIs. Our users can access all relevant documentation right within SAC through the dScribe plug-in."
